I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Clayman Institute for Gender Research at Stanford University. I received my PhD in Sociology (with distinction) at the University of Pennsylvania in 2016. My research interests are in gender, family, work, emotions, religion and qualitative methods. My dissertation was a qualitative study of unemployment, using over 100 in-depth interviews as well as family observations. My book manuscript based on this study is under contract with the University of California Press. I have also published standalone articles in the Journal of Marriage and Family and Sociology of Religion.
