Andrea Panchok-Berry’s research interests include racial categorization, immigrant integration, and immigrant organizational resources. In her dissertation research, she is examining racial classification and racial identity formation among Puerto Ricans in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. In previous work published in the Journal of Urban Research, she has examined access to immigrant resources across urban and suburban areas in the Philadelphia region, identifying a mismatch between immigrants’ increased settlement in suburbs and a continued concentration of resources in urban cores. She completed her B.A. in the Humanities at Yale in 2003 and previously worked as Director of Research at a political and brand strategy firm in New York City
