Dylan Farrell-Bryan


Dylan Farrell-Bryan is a second year Ph.D. student in Sociology studying the intersection of race and gender in immigration law in the United States. Her current work focuses on judicial discretion in immigration hearings, in particular the salient factors driving successful and unsuccessful bids to avoid deportation. Dylan’s past work includes research on undocumented youth with temporary legal status, and the ways in which they make sense of their legal position and belonging within the United States. Prior to attending the University of Pennsylvania, Dylan worked at NORC at the University of Chicago. She received her M.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago and her B.A. in Sociology and the Study of Women and Gender from Smith College.
