Immigration, race/ ethnicity, sociology of education, sociology of the family, social stratification

Phoebe is a doctoral candidate in the Sociology Department and an Institute of Education Sciences Fellow at the Graduate School of Education (Penn GSE). Her research focuses on the adaptation and integration of immigrant families, in particular, the relationship between family processes and educational outcomes among the children of immigrants. Her dissertation is a quantitative comparative analysis of multi-generational mobility in immigrant and native families in the U.S. She earned an MA in Education from Stanford University and a BA (summa cum laude) in History and Chinese from UCLA.
