Jeylan Erman is a fifth-year Ph.D student in the sociology and demography program at the University of Pennsylvania. Jeylan's research interests lie in the intersection of migration and family change. In a master's program in demography at Stockholm University, she studied the role of family structure in immigrant children's schooling outcomes. Currently, she is studying family dynamics among immigrants in Germany, France and Turkey. Prior to coming to Penn, Jeylan was also a Fulbright research fellow in Berlin, Germany from 2010 to 2011. Jeylan received an AB in economics and a certificate in Near Eastern Studies from Princeton University in 2008.
