At the center of my research agenda is an examination of the intersection of health, race and ethnicity, and population change from a multidimensional, transnational perspective; the foci of the research agenda are from within the continent of Africa and immigrants’ perspective, and within Latin America, specifically Brazil. I engage in a discussion of how my globally focused research agenda has evolved as an analysis of access to health care, mentoring women of color, and plans for the future regarding my research interests in the areas of immigrant health care, specifically for youth and young girls. Additionally, my research agenda interconnects with my teaching interests by informing each other to help students understand the scope of a social problem.
