Mauro F. Guillén has been appointed as the next dean of the Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge. He will begin his term September 1, 2021. Mauro will continue to be affiliated with Penn as a Professor Emeritus. Mauro has been an invaluable member of the Sociology Department for many years. He has published ten scholarly books and dozens of articles. His scholarship has received numerous distinctions, including Fulbright and Guggenheim fellowships, the Aspen Institute’s Faculty Pioneer Award, the President’s Book Award of the Social Science History Association, and a membership in the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton. He is an elected fellow of the Sociological Research Association and of the Macro Organizational Behavior Society and serves as a trustee of the Royal Foundation Princesa de Asturias in his native Spain.
