Penn Sociology Welcomes Wendy D. Roth and Xi Song to Faculty

Penn Sociology has added two new faculty members to the department, Wendy D. Roth and Xi Song

Prior to arriving at Penn, Wendy was an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of British Columbia. Wendy is a sociologist of race, ethnicity, and immigration, with interests in Latino and multiracial populations, the multiple dimensions of race, and intersections of race and genomics. 

Prior to arriving at Penn, Xi was an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Chicago. Her research contributes to studies on social stratification and mobility, poverty, inequality, and population studies from a quantitative perspective, with a particular focus on the formation of social inequality through intergenerational and lifecycle processes
