Raka Sen has been awarded the 2019-2020 Fulbright Nehru Research Grant to conduct her fieldwork on the effects of climate change in the Sundarbans. The grant will support 9 months of field research in the Indian Sundarbans. She has accepted the award and hopes to begin her fieldwork in early 2021. The research will focus on how new or changed forms of labor that are tied to increasing salinity in the region are reshaping understandings of gender. She hopes that through this research she will be able to help identify takeaways to help as the world prepares to adapt to these types of ecological challenges more frequently.
