Shawn (Sangeun) Kim (C’21) received the Campaign for Community Award

Shawn (Sangeun) Kim (C’21) received the Campaign for Community Award to fund his senior thesis project which is  looking at how race-related school programs impact the experience of minority students within majority white schools. Shawn is specifically looking at “racial literacy” programs, which are in-school programs that are designed to  support minority students academically. Shawn is using qualitative methods to collect data to ultimately see how the programs impact the academic engagement and sense of comfort of the minority students involved in the program.
