Regina Baker has been awarded a Trustees' Council of Penn Women (TCPW) Faculty Research Grant for her project, "Historical Racialized Institutional Contexts and Contemporary Inequalities across Southern Counties." This grant will support the construction of a dataset that includes county-level measures of historical institutional mechanisms of racial inequality. This will enable more fine-grained geographical analysis of the significance of place and namely, the historical contexts tied to places, for contemporary racial inequalities.
