Sociology Tenured/Tenure-track Position in Asian American Studies

The Department of Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track faculty position in the area of Asian American Studies.  This search is open to outstanding applicants at all career stages with a Ph.D. in Sociology or related social science fields.

The search committee particularly encourages applications from candidates seeking appointment at the rank of assistant or associate professor.  This hire is part of a multi-department, multi-position initiative in the area of Asian-American Studies. In addition to contributing to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level and mentorship in the Department of Sociology, the candidate is expected to play an active role in the University’s Asian American Studies Program (https://asam.sas.upenn.edu/).

The successful candidate is expected to have an outstanding publication record (relative to career stage) and an active research agenda in Asian American Studies; an external funding record is a plus for previously tenured candidates.  Interested candidates should apply online at http://apply.interfolio.com/93108.  Submit a letter of application, CV, two writing samples, and research and teaching statements. Candidates for appointment at the rank of assistant professor should also submit names of three references. Review of applications will begin September 15.  After that date, applications will continue to be reviewed until the position is filled.
