Ashleigh Cartwright, Ph.D. Candidate in Sociology, publishes paper, “A Theory of Racialized Cultural Capital”, in Sociological Inquiry. An earlier version of this paper won Honorable Mention for the 2021 Devon T. Wade Student Paper Award sponsored by the Association of Black Sociologists. In the paper Ashleigh examines the intersection between racial classification and cultural capital, as well as highlighting a crucial point of how capital that counts for some may not for others.
