Regina S. Baker, Assistant Professor of Sociology, has been invited to present award-winning paper in Luxembourg

Regina S. Baker (Assistant Professor of Sociology) and her co-author, Heather A. O’Connell (Assistant Professor of Sociology at Louisiana State University), have been named winners of the Luxembourg Income Study (LIS) Aldi Hagenaars Memorial Award for their LIS Working Paper, “Structural Racism, Family Structure, and Black-White Inequality in Poverty: The Differential Impact of the Legacy of Slavery among Single Mother & Married Parent Households”.  Every year, the award is granted to the writer under age 40, whose LIS or LWS Working Paper from the previous year best demonstrates the qualities of good scholarship that the late Aldi Hagenaars exhibited. They will present their winning paper at the upcoming LIS 40th Anniversary Conference in Luxembourg in May. This paper is now published in the Journal of Marriage in Family.
