Paula Fomby's co-authored article titled, "Interlinking Structural Racism and Heteropatriarchy: Rethinking Family Structure's Effects on Child Outcomes in a Racialized, Unequal Society"  won the American Sociological Association's Family Section Article of the Year award! 🎉

This section received close to fifty high-quality submissions this year and Professor Fomby's co-authored article was one of the two winners chosen. The award committee stated the their article addresses a critical issue in the field and should have a profound effect on the way we conduct and interpret research on families.
