Eugenio Paglino, PhD student in Sociology & Demography, and Irma Elo, Tamsen and Michael Brown Presidential Professor in Sociology and Andrew Stokes, Penn alum now Associate Professor of Global Health at Boston University, were highlighted in Penn Today regarding their collaborative research on 'natural' and COVID-19 deaths being related. In their study, they provide the most compelling data yet that suggests excess mortality rates from chronic illnesses and other natural causes were driven by COVID-19 infections.
