Matthew Sheen is a current second-year graduate student in the department of Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania. He is interested in studying how societal forces transform and shape family formation and behaviors and their ensuing impacts on social reproduction. His previous work includes an honors thesis "Cultural Humility in Parental Education" which explored the cross-racial and cultural impacts of parental education programs conducted by Cornell Cooperative Extensions across New York State. Matthew has also completed prior work on anti-racism and cultural humility in family intervention contexts and was a Merril Presidential Scholar and Honors student while at Cornell.
