Niiaja Wright is a Ph.D. student in sociology at the University of Pennsylvania. She received her B.A. in sociology from Villanova University where she studied racial identity formation among Black women at elite institutions. Her research interests include Critical Race Theory and social mobility among racial and ethnic minorities in the U.S. Particularly, she is concerned with how/if Black Americans can achieve fully realized equality under the social, political and economic conditions of the United States.
